Our Story: From Medical Diagnostics to Cannabis
Gila Bioscience has been developing lateral flow immunoassay technology since the early days of rapid testing. Our tests have been used in hospitals, clinics, veterinary practices, and food processing facilities around the world. We’ve built a reputation for scientific accuracy, manufacturing quality, and tests that work reliably in real-world conditions.
When the legal cannabis industry began to mature, we saw an opportunity to apply our expertise to a new challenge. Cannabis businesses needed the same kind of rapid, reliable testing that other regulated industries take for granted but purpose-built for the unique demands of cannabis production.
Rapid QCanna was born from that vision. We didn’t license someone else’s technology or rebrand existing products. We developed our cannabis testing kits from the ground up, drawing on 45+ years of experience in immunoassay development, manufacturing, and quality control.
What We Do: Rapid Testing for Cannabis Quality Control
THC Potency Test
Measures THC concentration in cannabis flower within the 5-30% range. Helps cultivators optimize harvest timing and verify product consistency.
Hemp Potency Test
Pass/fail screening at the 0.3% Total THC threshold. Enables hemp producers to monitor THC levels and prevent hot crops before compliance testing.
Aspergillus Test
Detects the four regulated Aspergillus species (A. fumigatus, A. flavus, A. niger, A. terreus). Protects consumers and prevents compliance failures for microbial contamination.
